Computational Scientist
Location: Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA, USA | Full time

Responsibilities

Build and reinforce the computational framework for processing various metagenomics projects with indications in human health

Build, maintain, and expand a machine learning pipeline to take insights from biologists and chemists from the identification of relevant pathways in metagenomes to the discovery of compounds using LC-MS/MS

Develop machine learning algorithms to replace old pieces of processing pipeline
-
Understand the scale of publicly available data and leverage those data to solve novel problems through discussion with wet lab scientists

Develop and maintain a code base and an image repository for analyzing biological data

Develop and maintain critical full-stack computational architecture to support peta-scale machine learning development
Qualifications
-
4+ year experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or relevant field with equivalent experience

Talented, highly motivated, and self-driven.

Understanding of microbial systems, experience with large scale biological data is a plus.

In-depth understanding of data structure and machine learning.
-
Proficiency in Python, Docker, Github, and Linux environments.

Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

A proven record of innovative algorithm development.

A proven record of scientific advances leading to high quality publications.
